I'm not sure how many people know, but most Internet radio stations are at 128kbps, some are at 192kbps but very few are at 256kbps. We use Shoutcast2 for our radio stations and you can only create a 128kbps stream unless you have a subscriber account. All of our streams are running smoothly at 256kbps, it costs us money but we pride ourselves on quality.
