James Cohen Jr. aka Jay Lyriq is an RIAA, Recording Industry Association of America, and ARIA, Australian Recording Industry Association, multi- platinum and multi- Gold award winning singer -songwriter, former Nappy Boy artist. Jay Lyriq is a native of Tallahassee Florida. As a young child Jay Lyriq love for music grew listening to musicians such as Sam Cook. Jay Lyriq continued to work on his writing and singing. Jay Lyriq was introduced to Faheem Najm aka of T-Pain and the rest was history.

Jay Lyriq's vocals and writing abilities has earned him placements on T-Pain albums, Epiphany Tallahassee Love, 69. I’m sprung also Three Ringz Tipsy and Reality Show including co- writing T-Pain’s billboard hit “UP Down”. Jay Lyriq co-wrote and featured on motion picture STEP UP 2 sound track “In da club” with female R & B group Sophia Fresh. Jay Lyriq has appeared on The Jay Leno Show, The Jimmy Kimmel Show, 50th Grammy Awards Show, 51st Grammy Awards Show, The London Mobo Awards, BET's 106 & Park, and the BET Awards, including a host of other shows.
