It was 20 years ago this very day. I will never forget. I was unemployed at the time so I was sleeping in when my phone rang. I checked the caller ID, saw it was my grandma, decided to call her back, so I let it go to my answering machine. An hour later I'm still in bed and my phone rings again. I see it's my friend Mike so I did the same thing. Then when I was ready to get my ass out of bed, I let my dogs outside, and I checked my messages. My grandma said that my aunt (who was living in New York at the time) was OK and no where near the World Trade Center. Then Mike was saying "turn on your TV because they got the World Trade Center". Hearing two messages mentioning the World Trade Center I knew something was wrong. I turned on the news, saw the rubble, and my heart sank. I watched the footage of the airplanes crash into the towers. I watched people jumping many stories to their deaths. I saw the city of New York engorged in smoke, dust, and debris. I could feel the sadness for our nation. Let us never forget what happened on September 11, 2001. God bless, everyone. #911neverforget #godblessamerica
